The Cultural Arabic Institute contains two parallel themes; the global spot and the local connection. The building approaches the surrounding city and invites it inside, repeats it, reflects it and its inhabitants. Each floor is a layer of the city that contains public streets and private enclosures. As you enter the building the awareness of the fact that a building always appears in a physical context dissolves. References to different places and communication with them embraces you. You are in an institute of mixed realities. People from other places in the world can see you, some places even hear you, and you can communicate with them. By entering the building you are situated in act of mutual spectation.
